Friday lunch visiting BFF and we were delighted to get a table - somewhere we’ve both wanted to go for a while. From start to finish it was a brilliant, life enriching experience. We went for the tasting menu, one wine pairing (one driver...) and sat in the window. I don’t want to painstakingly describe each dish - but there were all hits and no misses. Food and service executed with aplomb and totally delightful. We are still discussing how to make a celeriac veloute. A special note to Michael the sommelier who delivered the wine pairings with verve, knowledge and charm. I’m already looking at sourcing some of the superb wines he paired with our food. The whole experience was a delight and I’m hoping to get back in the not too distant future and highly recommended.

Best meal we’ve had for a long time. We enjoyed it so much we bought a book of their recipes. The kitchen accommodated my gluten free requests with delicious alternatives and the service was great. I would thoroughly recommend

We had an incredible lunch at The Angel of Dartmouth today. We arrived without a booking and were warmly welcomed — the service from start to finish was faultless. The menu was so impressive, it was hard to choose! We were tempted by the set menu of the day, but ended up ordering from the a la carte and were so glad we did. I had the Brixham crab risotto to start, followed by the halibut, and my husband chose the hand-dived scallops and the Devon lamb. Every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We shared the key lime tart for dessert — the perfect end to the meal. The sommelier helped us choose wine pairings that matched each course perfectly. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all outstanding. We enjoyed every mouthful and felt truly looked after. Highly recommend — this is a very special place.

Incredible gastronomic experience! The maitre d'hotel was very attentive and he really knew about the food that was being served. We ate a la carte and each and every dish was delicous! It is not so expensive considering the quality you get. We definitely recommend it and we will try to repeat soon!

We were very pleasantly surprised. We opted for 2 starters each and they were a taste sensation in every way. The wait staff were really professional and knew about every detail of the food they served. Location is fab too. Would return, highly recommended.

Fantastic restaurant with delicious, beautifully presented food. Flavours were clean and fresh. We heard about The Angel from watching Great British Menu and knew we wanted to check out Elly’s cooking when we were next around Dartmouth. We had the 3-course lunch menu, and had the fish options which were interesting and perfectly cooked. Recommended a surprising wine which went perfectly with the food. Very flexible with dietary requirements. Attentive and professional service. Would recommend!

Elly and her team are amazing took my mum here for a birthday treat and the moment u arrive the staff are soo loving they really care and take pride in what they do this place is faultless from the decor to the presentation of food and quality is amazing produce is soo fresh . Vibes and atmosphere is second to none! Elly is a amazing chef and the brigade I so hope to come back within a couple weeks just living a short distance in Kingsbridge

We had the tasting menu and enjoyed every single dish. Elly was kind enough to let us swap the duck liver course for scallop. Our favourite dish was the sea bass, with the lamb loin a close second. The service was friendly and attentive. They do a lunch deal which looks like excellent value. Lovely location, and if you get a window seat you can see all the activity going on in the harbour. If you call ahead you may be able to get a private parking spot for 10, if not, it’s worth allowing a bit of extra time to find one- there are spots where you can get 2 hours for free, but if you are having the tasting menu you may want more time. The espresso was excellent quality as were the petit fours.
